420mbps: It didn't let me continue typing on your post. -- Running 8.1 on my 1020 and there’s absolutely no lag. Plus the “lacks power” is useless when it comes to windows phones. They don’t need 8 cores to run the phone smoothly like Android does. But yes, the camera (best smartphone camera to date) and the price and great selling points.

Thanks heaps for your reply! :) I’ve read a lot saying that WP8 performs similarly across 6~ and 9~ series anyway, even if “dual-core” looks a little soft these days.

Really like the idea of having that sweet camera, and the camera grip to help out so I might have to go for it :D

Boyfriend has 1520. The pictures man. Holy shit. Used it on our japan holiday, I’d pull out my phone and not be able to get a good shot, he’d pull out his and manually focus and deal with the lack of light and shit and bam!

Aha… Good to hear it was still convenient to snap with even with it’s extra heft!

Shopping for a new phone

Need to upgrade my dumbphone to something this side of the millennium. I’ve read a million reviews, but I can’t decide…

Nokia Lumia 1020 - Lacks power, might chug when WP8.1 comes, but that camera and price.

Nokia Lumia 1520 - fixes above issue, decent price, but not sure how I feel about phablet even with my long fingers.

Nokia 930 - similar specs as above, but smaller…

HTC One M8 - fast, sexy, but camera is lacking.

Sony Xperia Z2 - solid, good specs, (worse software/slower Android updates?)

App Stores don’t really phase me, I’ll make do.
